About us
Our story
Didrick Ose and Petter Thorsen are co-owners of Adventure Travel Norway
For many years we both served in the Norwegian Navy Special Forces. We saw a growing need for complex, safe and bespoke trip planning for the world’s leading travel planners. Our Navy special operations background with its strong emphasis on risk management, attention to detail, team ethos and outdoor skills is invaluable for discerning clients that require ‘the best of the best’.
Petter Thorsen
Petter grew up in Sandefjord on the south coast of Norway. After serving for four years in the Norwegian Naval Special Forces he became educated in sports and biology and moved to Lofoten and Tromsø in northern Norway. Petter guided at Svalbard for several seasons before heading the Svalbard Polar Guide Training Program.
He is a former triathlete and two times Ironman Hawaii finisher. He has led several polar expeditions including across Greenland, Svalbard and to the North Pole. He is now living with his family just north of Trondheim in central Norway.
Didrick Ose
Didrick grew up in Molde among fjords and mountains to enhance his outdoor skills and enjoy a vast varietyof challenges. After travelling the world for two years on a fishing boat, he joined the Norwegian equivalent of the Navy SEALS.
Seven years later he turned to adventure. First creating an adventure race for reality TV (71°Nord) that sends contestants the length of Norway on foot, skis, bikes, kayaks and more. In 2005 he founded his outfitting business DID Adventure. They excel in delighting clients with all kinds of adventure sports and guides which are custom-made trips and challenges.
Nature Positive Impact
At ATN we believe that nature-based tourism and rewilding can help generate new business opportunities, rural jobs and income. We care deeply about the places we visit, the wildlife we encounter and the hosts that live in the remote corners of Norway.
Creating high value, low volume, nature positive impact experiences is a key part of ATN’s mission. Our sustainability approach means we avoid tourism hot-spots, support the development of local supply chains, support rewilding and focus on human powered activities.
Our trips are carbon positive, achieving net-zero carbon emissions through the purchase of Rewilding Credits that benefit biodiversity and rewilding initiatives in Europe.
